Before beginning here, I need to mention D2L Email is not real email. It cannot communicate to and from ppcc.edu or student.cccs.edu accounts. Yes, you can set up alerts, but replying to those forwarded alerts will result in lost email. Please use D2L Email as an internal messaging system only.
The easiest way to send a D2L Email is by going to be by clicking their name in the Classlist. Since Aarnie’s email is disabled, let’s practice by sending our instructor a D2L Email. Go to the Classlist and click on her name:
Once you click on her name a pop-up window will appear with a cryptic username. Don’t worry about that name. Simply type in the Subject, Body and any attachments you want and hit Send.
A couple of notes here. First, D2L Email will appear in the top of the page under the envelope:
Also, as mentioned before, this is not a true email system. Typing in addresses to the To, CC or BCC areas will not work:
Lastly, if you are emailing about grades and other personal information, please don’t send emails with everyone’s name in To, but rather move them to BCC using copy/paste:
