The Content tab is most useful areas of D2L, as it can serve as a central hub for all course materials and activities. It is often the first place students will go when looking for Assignments and Quizzes, rather than going to those tabs. This is simply because students are able to see, at a glance, the whole course right there in Content. To make this most effective, best practice is to link all course materials to the Content page. So, let’s take a look at how to add a Content link to another D2L activity. For this example, we’ll be linking to a Quiz, but the process is the same for all other D2L activities.
Linking to an Assignment, Quiz, or Discussion #
First, go to the Content page, and navigate to the Module where you’d like to place the new link. Then, click the Existing Activities button, and choose the option you would like to link to. For this example, we’ll link to a Discussion.
D2L will then pop up with a list of all of the items related to that activity in your course. For this example, we’re seeing all the Discussion topics in the course, and we’ll click on the Unit 1 Discussion to add it to this module.
Your link will appear at the bottom of the module.
Linking to a Content Item that is Elsewhere in Content #
Navigate to the Module where you’d like to place your link. Then, click on Upload / Create and select “Add from Manage Files”.
This will bring up a database of all the files that have been uploaded to your course. The files will be ordered by the name of your file from A-Z. Check the box next to the file you want to add to your module, then click “Add”.
