D2L Basics and Advanced Training

For Fall 2023, all D2L trainings will be held via Zoom. Add the Training to your calendar from the CETL SharePoint or request a calendar invitation through the Sign-Up form

D2L Basics

Join Learning to learn the basics of D2L. This training will cover an introduction to D2L, announcements, content, creating assignments, building quizzes, setting-up discussion posts, grades, and creating an attendance roster. You will also learn more about tools that are helpful to you in your courses.

Advanced D2L​

Advanced D2L training offers a deep dive into the groups, quizzes, gradebook, content tab, and attendance tools. Walk away with different ways to set up and use your D2L shell for your classes.

Self-Paced Online Training Courses

To register for a Self-Paced course, log into MyCourses. Then under Self-registration Courses, click on Discovery Tool – Register.

Essentials of Teaching and Learning Online Boot Camp

Essentials of Teaching and Learning Online Boot Camp provides the EDU 2631 (Teaching and Learning Online) requirement for teaching online and hybrid courses at Pikes Peak State College.

Registration for Summer 2023 will open Monday, April 17 at 8:00 am. Registration will close on Thursday, May 11 at 5:00 pm.

Essentials of Teaching and Learning Online Boot Camp is a fully online two-week course. We will explore effective online design principles and teaching strategies as well as classroom management.  We will examine how to craft effective discussions, rubrics and assessment, and the importance of FERPA and ADA. You will leave Teaching and Learning Online Boot Camp with techniques and tools while experiencing what it is like to be an online student at PPSC. 

If you are an adjunct instructor enrolled in the Promoting Advancement and Growth for Educators (PAGE) Program through CETL (Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning), you will receive 5 PD units after successfully completing Essentials of Teaching and Learning Online Boot Camp with an 80% or better by submitting the reflection and tracking form. To verify your registration or for intent form information for the PAGE Program, please contact CETL at CETL@pikespeak.edu. Registration for PAGE occurs twice a year beginning the Monday of PDW (August and January) and ends on the student drop date.
