In order to add materials to Content, we must first create a module. A module can be a unit, chapter, week, or other division of Content materials. Modules will appear in the Content Navigator Widget on the Course Home page as well, so they are very helpful in guiding students to materials you want them to access. Here’s a video tutorial on how to create a module, or you can view the written instructions below.
To create a module, go to the Content tab in your D2L course, and click on Add a module in the left side menu under the Table of Contents (if you have other modules already there you may have to scroll down to see the Add a module tool). Enter the name of the new Module and press Enter.

If you want to take it a step further and create submodules, you can do this by going to a parent module and then clicking on “Add a sub-module”. Type in a title and hit Enter.

Once done, you’ll notice the sub-module now sits inside the parent module you had selected.
After you’ve created your module/sub-module you can add content to it by clicking the buttons at the top. Select the “Upload/Create” button to add a new file, or the “Existing Activities” button to include something you’ve already created in quizzes, assignments, discussions, etc.
