To create an Assignment Submission Folder, navigate to your course and click on the Assignments tab. Then, click on “New Assignment”:

You’ll be presented with several options:

- Name the assignment.
- Points possible on the assignment.
- Link the assignment to a Grade Item in your Gradebook (NOTE: Assignments that are not linked to a grade item will not appear in the gradebook and will not be included in the students’ grades).
- Date the assignment is due.
- Instructions and assignment information.
To the right, you will see three menus. Click on the menu title to view more options. Under Availability Dates & Conditions, you can set Start and End Dates (dates when the students will be able to see and submit the assignment), create special release conditions or grant special access. Release conditions are an advanced feature that requires the student to complete certain tasks before seeing this submission folder. Special access allows for specific students to submit outside the regular date range. It can also be used to hide the entire folder to prevent anyone access.

Under Submission & Completion, you can categorize your assignment, change the submission type, and place limitations on file uploads.

Under Evaluation & Feedback, you can add rubrics, manage learning objectives, and manage your Turnitin settings.

When you are done, be sure to click Save and Close.
