The way that the YuJa Panorama accessibility checker will grade your course files will change as of May 12th, 2026 and will apply to your courses starting in the Summer 2026 semester. The number of accessibility issues in course files will not change, but the way the issues are scored will. While it will require additional effort in the way of fixing existing files and proactively designing new files to be accessible, it will ensure a more inclusive environment for students and staff alike.
The new scoring model will result in an expected 20-30% drop in accessibility scores starting in Summer 2026. However, it will provide a more accurate result and ensure inclusive learning spaces throughout the system.
