Registration for the May 12-27 SU25 session is now open.
Essentials of Teaching and Learning Online Boot Camp is a fully online, interactive two-week course. We will explore effective online design principles, teaching strategies, and classroom management. We will examine how to craft effective discussions, design course maps, and create rubrics for effective assessment. We will identify the importance of FERPA and ADA so that we can ensure an equitable and inclusive learning experience for our students. You will leave the Teaching and Learning Online Boot Camp with techniques and tools while experiencing what it is like to be a distance education student at PPSC.
Essentials of Teaching and Learning Online Boot Camp provides the EDU 2631 (Teaching and Learning Online) and EP 190 requirements for teaching distance education courses at Pikes Peak State College and can be used for CTE credentialing. The training has been revised to incorporate Colorado Online Quality Standards to ensure consistent training across the CCCS college system.
Please contact Christine Gaccetta-Sharp at Christine.Gaccetta-Sharp@pikespeak.edu if you have questions.
If you are an adjunct instructor enrolled in the Promoting Advancement and Growth for Educators (PAGE) Program through CETL (Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning), you will receive 10 PD units after successfully completing Essentials of Teaching and Learning Online Boot Camp with an 85% or better and by submitting the CETL reflection and tracking form.
To verify your intent form information for the PAGE Program, please contact CETL at CETL@pikespeak.edu Registration for PAGE occurs twice a year, beginning on the Monday of PDW (August and January) and ends at 5:00 pm on the last day of the semester in fall and spring semesters.
