A thread is a string of discussion posts. The first thread is the initial post with replies to follow. So, to start a discussion, we must first start a new thread. To do so, we go to Discussions and click on a Topic. The topic will be a blue link. If you only have black headed forums, you will need to first go back and add a new topic.
From here, we get a screen with all of the current threads. At this point, there aren’t any threads, so let’s click on “Start a New Thread” to get going:
From there, it’s just a matter of typing in your Subject and content of the message and click “Post”:
Once the post is up, you’ll see the thread with the subject title hyperlinked:
