Introduction #
You may be wondering, “why would I want to print a quiz in D2L?”. Well, you may want to print a quiz to assist ACCESSibility Services in making an accommodation, or to provide it to your students in the classroom.
What You Need #
To print a quiz in D2L you can either do so by:
- Using the Firefox Browser, to allow you to print the Quiz directly.
- Copying the contents of a Quiz and pasting it into Microsoft Word.
The Firefox option is the easiest, but both options work just fine.
In addition you will want to make sure that you:
- Set up your quiz so that all of the quiz questions appear on one page. Otherwise you will only print/copy the quiz, one page at a time.
Note: If your quiz uses random questions/sections, the quiz will be different each time you print/copy it.
Also, don’t forget, you can get a free copy of Microsoft Office via the PPCC Office website.
Using Firefox to Print #
Printing the Quiz using Firefox requires two steps:
- Previewing the Quiz
- Printing the Quiz Frame
Step 1: Preview the quiz in D2L #
- Click on Quizzes link in the navbar to see the list of quizzes.
- Click from the drop-down action menu next to the quiz’s name you would like to print and select the Preview button.
- Check the box for Bypass Restrictions.
- Click the Start Quiz! button.
- Click the OK button on the pop-up confirmation window.
Step 2: Printing the quiz #
- Right-click on the area that contains quiz questions and from the menu, choose This Frame and click on Print Frame.
- Set the print settings as you like (Double sided, etc.), and then click the Print button.
Copying and Pasting Into Word #
You will still need to preview the quiz first, just like in the Firefox example, the second step will simply be copying the content and pasting into a Word document.
Step 1: Preview the quiz in D2L #
- Click on Quizzes link in the navbar to see the list of quizzes.
- Click from the drop-down action menu next to the quiz’s name you would like to print and select the Preview button.
- Check the box for Bypass Restrictions.
- Click the Start Quiz! button.
- Click the OK button on the pop-up confirmation window.
Step 2: Copying and Pasting #
Within the Quiz Preview, you will want to click and drag your mouse cursor to highlight all of the quiz questions and text in the quiz itself.
Next, right-click on the selected text and choose the copy option.
Open up a new Word document, right-click in the document and choose one of the paste options (whichever looks best)

The quiz will now be pasted into your Word document. Do any formatting changes as necessary and print.
