Grading in D2L Overview

We suggest that you always go to the Quizzes or Assessments tab (depending on what you’re grading) even though you can start this process in the Grades tab as well.  It’s easier!
Next, click the down arrow (AKA the caret) next to the Quiz or Assessment you’re wanting to grade, and select EDIT from the menu that appears.

In the window that appears, select the Assessment tab.

The first 3 items are important for having the Quiz grade itself automatically.

Option 1 – Automatically Publish Evaluation does exactly what it says, publishes Quiz results so you don’t have to.

Option 2 – Grade Item shows the name of the Quiz that also appears in the Grades page.  There are two choices here: choice A is the Drop Down but this only helps if you already created the Grade Item in Grades.  Choice B is [add grade item] which you can use to create a new Grade Item.  There are tons of options in doing this but really you only need the Name, Maximum Points, and Grade Scheme. Once you’ve set your options, click the blue Save button. Now that the Grade Item has been created and is associated with this assignment/quiz, it will appear on the Grades page.

Option 3 – Synchronize to Grade Book. This keeps the grades that appear in this assignment synced to the corresponding entry on the Grades page.
